My all-time favorite book is Gone with the Wind!!

I also have Love In The Time Of Cholera - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
(#60) on my bookshelf, but haven't read it yet. That may be my next book...

Lisa

I've read some of these...seen some of these in movie, although that just doesn't compare with the book. Some I have and just can not get into..like the first one. Will try to read it again, one day. :)

Cheryl

I don't know that I'd classify "The DaVinci Code" as a classic no matter how much I liked it. I need to read more books on that list.

Martha@A Sense of Humor is Essential

Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books ever. Such a joy.
Memoirs of a Geisha is a great read as is Cold Mountain.
If you enjoy mysteries, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is Elementary, My Dear Cammie!!
I love to read too.

E @ Scottsville

Cammie, I think you'd hate me in real life then. I may have read MAYBE five of those... cuz I just absolutely hate to read. I did read the Bible last night though - well not all of it, but part of it!

I'm sure I'd be lots smarted if I'd do more reading. I do LOVE reading blogs though. Does that count?

Mommy of M's

I've only read 3 on that list!! Yea, I suck.

Angel Ginger Jasper

I just love books too. I have read some of those on your list but a lot I need to.

Carol ....

Kami

I LOVE reading! But I have not read even 1/3 of those books. Who puts these lists together, anyway? I'm just not that into "literature", even though I try and try. Anyway, you have GOT to get a copy of Winnie the Pooh, The House at Pooh Corner, and When We Are Six and read them together with your kids! Like, now. They are fantasic! And I also recommend Brave New World. I had to read that one in HS but bought it and have read it several times more. It is a fantastic fantasy. I have heard 1984 is a similar must read, but I haven't gotten to that one yet. Happy Reading!

Kristina P.

I read Flowers in the Attic in the 5th grade! My mom found out and had a serious talk with me about incest. That was great.

Mimi

So many books, so little time!

OMG i am an addict, a bookworm, obsessed, i have read all but about 13 of these books over the years...okay, all the classics, shakespear, dickens, bronte, austin, orwell, hardy i read at school (so they don't count as i had no choice), but i read too much obviosly lol!!!!i read anything i can get my hands on and i speed read...which helps...i never re read either, except pride and predudice (yearly)...

I remember being obseesed with the flowers in the attic series when i was in my teens, even the new virginia andrews and i'm only starting the twilight series now 'cos robyn wants to read them....so i feel better now!

i notice that hardy, elliot, ransome are in italics, these are ones we read at school, mostly great. swallows and amazons is a kids adventure that got me and my brother into big trouble lol!!!

tess of the d'urbervilles I LOVE!!! it was recently made into a TV series too, they did it quite well...

I'll shut up now....

Kitten

I, too, have not read the Narnia series. That's one of my goals this summer...if I ever finish DaVinci Code. I've been having a hard time getting into that one...then again, I've been so busy lately that I've hardly had time to blog, let alone read one!

CreativeMish

Hi Cammie

Thanks for coming by and visiting me at my blog. Your blog banner is adorable (as are your kids).

Re: your book list...
I would suggest both of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's books (#43 and #60). Also Gone With The Wind, and Memoirs of a Geisha.

Bill Bryson is a great writer. He's very funny. Makes you LOL as you read (#74). He's especially good if you like to travel.

Sarah

Oh, and I started The Hobbit, but I could NOT get into his writing style. It drove me batty.

BonBon Rose Girls Kristin
